Sorry everyone… Saratoga cancelled the annual Flag Day parade because the Belmont is being held at Saratoga Race Track…
While the drumline wase shooting for a return to parades Memorial Day weekend,
due to a number of circumstances, it doesn’t look like AGAD will be active at all in 2024.
We’re still hopeful that we’ll be able to have something for Flag Day 2025 to celebrate the corps’ 50th anniversary.

In 2019 the corps welcomed special guest Chuck Mangione!!
They along with several area high school jazz bands, performed a tribute concert on June 7, 2019…
Then the corps marched in the 2019 Saratoga Flag Day Parade on June 8, 2019
where Mr. Mangione served as Grand Marshall!!

The Avant Garde Alumni Drumline…
…was formed by two former members
of the Avant Garde Jr. Drum & Bugle Corps based in Saratoga County, New York.
The Corps’ used a yin-yang as its symbol, its colors being dark green and black and the alumni drumline plans to continue these traditions.

This website is dedicated Mr. Chet Zabek – one of the founders of the Avant Garde Jr. Drum & Bugle Corps who passed away on November 29, 2008.
Mr. Zabek was active with the Interstatesmen Drum and Bugle Corps in Troy and Pittsfield, Mass. as a drummer for several years and was a founding member of the AVANT GARDE Drum and Bugle Corps – where he served as percussion caption head for several years.
